As the official calendar app for RuPaul’s DragCon 2016, Allcal not only helped organizers communicate with attendees and get valuable data in real-time – it also gave attendees a way to connect with fellow fans in a meaningful way.
An interactive, mobile solution for fans
Pictures, social media integration, and live website links helped fans get excited for each panel and performance at the second annual RuPaul’s DragCon.
Although DragCon offered a $5 printed schedule, they knew many fans wanted something digital and easy to carry around the convention floor.
The mobile RuPaul’s DragCon schedule was free for all attendees and available on iPhone, Android, iPad, and Desktop.
Real-time communication and notifications
The RuPaul’s DragCon 2016 calendar stayed updated in real-time, so when organizers made day-of changes at the event they knew everyone received the update.
Fans even got pop-up notifications on their mobile phones about important changes.
Attendees connect with in-app messaging
Members of the strong drag community were anxious to meet fellow fans at RuPaul’s DragCon, using Allcal’s in-app chat feature to make those connections.
Fans posted more than 1,600 chat messages on the official RuPaul’s DragCon calendar.
Important data before, during, and after DragCon
Allcal’s sophisticated database gave organizers important pre-event data, such as daily updates on which RuPaul’s DragCon panels were most popular.
A final report revealed more than 1,900 fans used the RuPaul’s DragCon mobile schedule, spending an average of 23 minutes on the app.
A platform for year-round connection
Even though RuPaul’s DragCon 2016 is over, the nearly 2,000 members remain connected on the Allcal platform.
New events, messages, and updates will send automatic notifications to their mobile phones, giving organizers an opportunity to communicate with attendees year-round.
